Caesar Wek

Mr Caesar Wek is a dual fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, specialising in hip and knee replacement with a particular focus on complex and revision hip replacement surgery.
Caesar graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School and earned a BSc (Hons) in Orthopaedic Sciences from University College London, where his research at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore earned him a prestigious academic prize.
His orthopaedic training was completed on the South-East Thames rotation in London. In 2020, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Orth). To further develop his subspecialist skills in hip replacement, Caesar completed the Royal Bournemouth Hip Fellowship and the Revision Hip & Knee Fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London.
Caesar has a strong academic and leadership background. He was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership through the British Orthopaedic Association Future Leaders Programme, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education during his time as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.
He is also an active contributor to orthopaedic research, having authored a book chapter on minimally invasive (small scar) hip replacement surgery, and published extensively in leading orthopaedic journals. He regularly presents at national and international conferences, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest advances in hip surgery.
In 2023, Caesar was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Dorset County Hospital, where he is also the Orthopaedic Clinical Lead for Trauma. Outside of medicine, Caesar lives in Dorset with his wife and is a keen long-distance runner. He completed the London Marathon in 2019, raising funds for the orthopaedic charity Joint Action.
